Veronica Torres Luna

Veronica is an MPA candidate at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is currently taking a Freshwater Lab course through which she is learning about water governance and its connection to equity and social justice issues. Veronica has spent time in Chile where she helped plant native trees to improve air quality in the community. She also traveled to the Philippines and experienced first-hand the work that Gawad Kalinga, an organization that strives to lift people out of poverty, does to improve the quality of life of many. Veronica is committed to improving disadvantaged communities through empowerment and hopes to affect positive change through her work in NGEF. In her free time, Veronica enjoys reading, yoga, and watching the series Explained on Netflix.
