About the event

Forest bathing is a form of meditation that occurs in the forest setting. Prepare to be "bathed" in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest. Forest bathing is done in comfortable clothing of your choice--there is no water involved!

Also known in Japan as "Shinrin-yoku", forest bathing has been scientifically shown to improve mental and physical health. The practice incorporates stillness as well as subtle movements. This multi-sensorial experience creates a peaceful immersion in nature that can nurture overall well-being.

You may bring a journal and something to write with if you wish. Wear suitable shoes, in case it is muddy. We may walk a short distance. Bring a blanket, cushion or chair to sit on.

In the event of heavy rain, we will notify you of cancellation 1 hour in advance. Please note that this event is intended for ages 12 and up.

Join Nordson Green Earth Foundation in creating vibrant healthy communities in and around Chicago.  Please consider a gift of $40 to support our upcoming tiny native forest in Markham, Illinois!  Mark your calendar for our planting date: Friday May 20, 2022.
